The dinner has come and went. After all the weeks and months of preparation, the event is over. We manage to sell 122 tables. 2 of the tables were VIP tables ie. for pastors.
The food was a huge disappointment and completely different from what we tried at the food tasting. The pongteh was burnt, the sambal belachan was too hot(my cousin's tongue was hanging out), the tai bak wasn't sweet enough, etc. etc. And, worse still, there was not enough waiters/waitresses. There was about 20 of them and they were rushing about like mad. They were so slow, that by the time the drama was due to start, the dinner had not finished yet. We still had to go ahead with the drama and I had to miss out 3 or 4 dishes. I'm pretty sure that this will be our last time having Peranakan food for such an event.
If the food was a disappointment, the drama certainly wasn't. It went on very well, despite the fact that certain parts of the dialogue wasn't there during the rehearsals. I don't think the audience noticed anything unusual even if we who were at the rehearsals did. I had to operate the computer during the whole event so I wasn't up the stage. One of The Star reporter was there. I saw a couple of pics in his blog. You can find them in the link here.

Another visitor(no one knows who) posted video clips of the event in YouTube.
This was my first time wearing a kebaya. B2, B3, and me borrowed them from someone. My mom bought hers. Serene's was the Singapore Airlines type.
I must say that the whole event was very fun and memorable.
A YouTube video of the worship in the anniversary. My dad is one of the worship leaders. There are 3 worship leaders. One of them is playing the guitar. My dad is the other worship leader. My mom is in the team of back-up singers.
